Dr. Charlotte Newman is the esteemed founder and chief clinical director of Dr. Newman's Optometry and Vision Therapy. With over 29 years of experience, she has been in private practice since 2009.

Dr. Newman received her undergraduate training at California State University, Northridge, and earned her Doctor of Optometry degree from the Southern California College of Optometry in 1996.

Since then, she has been at the forefront of co-managing cataract and refractive surgery patients, collaborating with top surgeons, and utilizing state-of-the-art technology. She is dedicated to educating her patients about various surgical procedures and the lifestyle adjustments that follow.

Dr. Newman is committed to providing comprehensive eye care to all ages, ensuring each patient receives personalized and thorough care. She focuses particularly on adult and children Vision Therapy, Stroke/Brain Injury Rehabilitation, Computer Vision Syndrome, Dry Eye Disease, Rosacea, Styes/Chalazion and Blepharitis. Dr. Newman is especially passionate about visual rehabilitation and neuro-developmental optometry, with expertise in prescribing specialty lenses to improve eye focusing and motor abilities– an art of prescribing often overlooked in a majority of eye examinations.

She meticulously evaluates school-age children's vision and oculomotor systems to support their academic success in reading and writing through comprehensive testing beyond the standard "20/20" vision check. Dr. Newman frequently receives referrals from occupational and physical therapists, psychiatrists, and neuro-ophthalmologists to evaluate the visual skills that extend beyond 20/20. When the brain and eyes perform together at their peak, learning and sustaining visual tasks are easier; this holds true for school-aged children, college students, and working adults.

Dr. Newman dedicates as much time as needed to care for each patient, demonstrating her deep commitment to their well-being. Her passion for her profession ensures that all of your family’s eye-care needs are met with the utmost attention and care.
